COVID-19 Update

Edmonds Vision Center has made some changes to our office to make your eye exam safe and efficient.

Setting up the Clinic

☐ We have installed plexiglass shields at the front desk and in the optical gallery.

☐ We have added medical grade air filtration systems in the exam rooms and large open areas to clean the air we breath.

☐ We have removed reception area chairs and all magazines.

☐ We installed a sanitization station at the entrance with masks and non-contact thermometer.

☐ We have installed protective guards on the exam room equipment as well as automatic hand sanitization units in every room.

☐ All eyewear has been cleaned and opticians will provide individualized styling to all guests.

☐ We have appropriate PPE, or personal protection equipment, and sanitization protocols in place to keep our clinic clean and healthy.

Managing Your time in the office

☐ We have established new routines to improve efficiency in the office. All visits to our office will be appointed, no walk ins permitted.

☐ Streamlined our exam protocols:

Online intake forms.

Phone call interview done prior to your eye exam.

No waiting, we will let you in to the office when it is time for your appointment.

OPTOS retinal imaging will be recommended to lessen your chance of needing dilation.

Optical interview done prior to visit to optical will allow us to find your perfect eyewear quicker.

Curbside delivery of your eyewear or contacts.

Expanded office hours to accommodate more routine exam appointments.

Longer appointment times with no overlap with other patients to allow for social distancing.

☐ Telemedicine appointments will be available for emergencies, thereby reducing in office visits to a minimum.

Guidance and Training

☐ We are following the guidance of the CDC and the Washington Department of Health to establish our procedures including suggested PPE for health care providers.

☐ Immediately after every patient we will clean every room and piece of equipment before the next person arrives using approved disinfectants.

☐ Per the recommendations of Washington Department of Health, all staff and patients must wear masks unless contraindicated.

☐ Included in our intake protocol is a COVID-19 symptom interview, temperature screening and hand cleaning. All guests will be logged for social tracing.

☐ We have done extensive training of staff of all protocols and will update our standards as the situation requires.
